School Nurse

NHS School Nursing Service

 

The school nursing service is available for all primary school aged children. The service can offer support with general child development matters and aim to provide support early on before minor challenges become real difficulties.

The service offers support from EYFS- Year 6, Covering topics such as;

  • Toileting  
  • Diet, nutrition and healthy eating 
  • Behaviour 
  • Sleep 
  • Emotional health and well-being support 

 

For help in making a referral to school nursing, please talk to a member of the pastoral team.

 

Outside of these appointments, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years in Leicester city and parents of children aged 0-11 years in Leicestershire and Rutland, called Chat Health.

 

The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.
